I was on a short holiday with my wife at The Hydro in Bowness and just had 1 morning to do a bit of low-fly photography. The weather had been really bad, but it looked ok for the Friday, so I decided to try a new spot and went up Great Howe, at the top end of Thirlmere. 2 hawks came, but went behind the hill and up St Johns, only appearing in the distance to turn towards Keswick.
I just had 1 GR4 though in front of me, and it was a bit distant for the 300mm. The heli also went behind the hill. There was other traffic about during the day,a herc and several other aircraft, but nothing else came past me before I went back to the hotel at about 13:00
